June 18, 2020

Joel sits down with Livingston midfielder (and sometime captain) Marvin Bartley. Recorded a couple of weeks ago, the guys begin with a quick chat on Livi’s Gary Maley survival poll before going on to talk about surviving lockdown as a footballer; the challenges mentally and what Bartley is doing to cope.

The pair go on to talk about Marvin’s first steps in football and his relief when he was released by Reading before working his way back into the Football League at Bournemouth. At the Cherries he played under Eddie Howe who took him to Burnley where Bartley encountered struggles and a desire to return to London.

It was, however, those struggles which prepared the midfielder for a switch to Hibs as he explains.
